Art is most wonderful when it takes your little world and smashes it into a million bigger pieces. The art of Nick Cave (no, not Australia's best musician) is just such a thing that redefines the possibilities of what art is and can be. His artwork involves costume and fashion design along with all manner of thought processes in an attempt to answer the question: "what makes people happy? What makes them step out of their day to day existence and be light within a moment?"

 

Apparently the answer to that question is collecting all the fallen twigs in Central Park and making a giant suit out of them! We know WE can't stop smiling. Nick Cave's exhibition is playing at the Jack Shainman Gallery in Chelsea, NYC. If you're round-there-abouts, make sure you pop in!
