If silly rom-coms about cheating/bed swapping spouses starring either Daniel Auteil and/or cine-stalwart Gerard Depardieu are your idea of contemporary French cinema – think again. It ain’t all Amelie and Paris, Je t’Aime in the land of lait et miel. Waddle on down to the French Film Festival and be pleasantly surprised that not every French film concerns baby boomers drinking wine and complaining about the perils and pitfalls of life and love…er, yeah.
