I was eighteen before I ever went in but I feel like I grew up in the Crown and Anchor Hotel. Everything awesome that has happened to me has somehow related back to that place. Made friends. Met girlfriends. Discovered bands. Took my current girl there for what I consider our first proper date to see The Twits. I knew she was for me when she started jumping around as the naked man on stage rode a hobby-horse.
It's just my favourite place. Feels like home even when I haven't been for ages. At the Cranker, everyone is welcome. The Cranker doesn't give a shit.
This long weekend Adelaide's most honest pub is opening the doors to punters of all ages for two days of free music. Satan's Cheerleaders. God God Dammit Dammit. And these trubadores right here, Aphelion.
You should come.
