Today's photo was actually taken by someone other than myself, which I guarantee is a first for The Week. I gave my friend Rose Tucker my camera as I had the total coolness of filming these guys with a video cam. This is Like Leaves and they will melt your brain if you're not careful. But it could be a good thing.
The Coopers Alive music extravaganza was on over the weekend (and this one coming up! Get on it kids). There are so many staggeringly good musicians in this town. Thunderclaw, Bronze Chariot and, these cats above, Like Leaves, brought the doom-psych-prog-metal-and-occasionally-slightly-countryfied vibes to The Ed on Friday. Gracewood, Brenton Manser and The Disciples of Zen along with Laura hill and the Tuesday Bandits brought the alt-country-blues-reggae-all-round-rootsy-beerness to The Wheaty on Saturday.
So lucky to see that shit, seriously. Makes me want to buy a harmonica. Or at least a tamborine.
Music, music. You know the drill. Go see stuff.
