With only two more sleeps till the fat man in the red suit climbs down my chimney, I'm starting to think it might be time to get myself organised for Christmas. I'm seriously dreading hitting the shops - I've been putting it off for the last few weeks because I know how busy it'll be. Now that I'm fast running out of time, I'm starting to realise it's going to be even crazier now than it would have been weeks ago. And it would have been a lot smarter to have already completed the manic mission of Christmas shopping.

But wait...I'm actually a little bit excited. There'll be Christmas decorations everywhere, carols blasting through the speakers and of course the line up of kids desperate for their turn to tell Santa what they want for Christmas before it's too late. There'll be others, just like me, in a mad rush to find that perfect present for friends and family. But it'll be the kind of mad rush that gives you a good buzz, because you know that very soon you'll be sitting down to a roast turkey or seafood (or if you're really lucky - both!) lunch with loved ones. There'll be slip-n-slide in the backyard and Grandma will have a couple of wines and start doing the Mexican chicken dance (an interesting combo of the Mexican hat dance and chicken dance). I'll get a crochet clothes hanger from Great Aunt Edith, as always a very useful giftt. Then nearly break my teeth on a foil wrapped five cent piece cleverly hidden in the Christmas pudding, while we all sit around in our plastic or paper crowns telling bad cracker jokes. Yep, Christmas with my crazy family is always entertaining.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE! I'm going shopping.
