The eponymous Miss Gladys Sim Choon turned 24 last Thursday. It was a really fun night and a great celebration of this institution as well as the return (although only fleeting) of Adelaide-raised fashion designer Weave. Her collection is amazing and I'm pretty sure - exclusive to Miss Gladys Sym Choon.
By Weave high end seasonal collection was showcased as the first to run down the cat walk at Rosemount Australian Fashion week New Generation show 2008. The collection consisted of beautifully tailored jackets, exquisite silk linen and cotton dresses, and unusually detailed pieces. Her runway success has been phenomenal after her launch at AFW and Weave has been hailed as a designer to watch for 2009/10.
Weaving her magical threads through the Music Industry where she has been commissioned to design pieces for numerous International and Australian Music Artists. One of which is the UK glam rock God Justin Hawkins “The Darkness” for the MTV music awards and back to our shores for The Veronicas for the 2006 Aria awards, Natalie Bassingthwaighte recent video clips and the performance at the Australian Idol finale at the Opera House via Sony music.
