Hi merge and merge extended family!
I just signed up to the website tonight with two friends from Uni. We are utter povos and totally technologically backward, (WiFi, what's WiFi?) and we're jumping on and off this here computer to put a few comments up on your board. But the reason we signed up all together is because we were sitting around wondering what the hell is wrong with Adelaide and what's going to change here so that it's a bit... I dunno... less mono-cultural? We have our stayed mainstream Football scene but there doesn't seem to be much of anything else... yeah we were whinging and then Jeremy said, "but at least there's Merge and some other stuff going on that wasn't before". And we were like "you're right Jeremy", which made him very happy. But anyway, we picked up a magazine and for some reason looked at it a little differently and going through it we just thought, "yeah" this is awesome and Adelaide is awesome and we just felt like taking on the world and doing all this stuff here in the city and so we came to the website and joined up.
 
Now here we are. All hopped up on cups of tea and wondering why there aren't more people on this website. Well, we know why... they're all on facebook. But facebook is creepy when you really think about it. Back in the early 00s you could find a good community of like-minded people but now you have to lie about which school you went to so that tragics don't stalk you online. I (we) just reckon that Merge could actually achieve more good than all the photo-tagging and punchy one-liners on bookface. We hereby deffect... well, we have to keep facebook to make sure we get invited to the ever-lengthening list of 21sts but as soon as there done we're in for good.
