Trying to get on top of all my uni work today got me thinking... what possesses us to pursue the things we do?

Last semester in my Intellectual Property class, our lecturer posed the question "How many of you are creative?" Looking around, there were maybe a few hands going up. Her reply was "It's okay, most law students aren't."

So what possessed me to pursue law as a career, then? I'm a passionate photographer, artist, and writer, yet I'm studying to become a boring, stuffy, most likely alcoholic lawyer.
