19 KAREN is a Contemporary Australian gallery on the Gold Coast showcasing a new breed of emerging Australian and International artists. Founded in mid 2008, our aim is to establish a curriculum dedicated to artists who re-define the way contemporary art is viewed in Australia. We provide Australian and International artists with curatorial support and career development opportunities via representation, exhibitions and special projects. We have a stock room available for perusal as well as regular exhibitions. The gallery was founded mid 2008 by Directors Mariam Arcilla and Terri Lew.

Our gallery is available for hire for one-night only private functions, fashion shows, product launches, film screenings and art-panels. We encourage proposals that involve unique projects or ideas that combine art with music, fashion, business and design. We are also open to collaborating with arts-related bodies and creative organizations

Our monthly exhibition program focuses predominantly on emerging Australian artists, and is curated by the Gallery Directors. We welcome artist portfolios all year round, and also represent a small stable of emerging Australian artists.

We have a strong focus on contemporary art practices. Artists who have previously exhibited at 19 KAREN include: Jae Copp, Laura Jones, Vitor Dos Santos, Andrew Gordon, Hannah Smith, Alice Lang, Nic Plowman and Anthony Lister. Artists exhibiting in 2010 include: Damien Kamholtz, Abigael Whittaker, Fefe Talavera, Ben Frost, Nolwenn Stephan, Johnny Romeo, Ghost Patrol, Reka, and Marco Wagner.
