A note to any Kiwi expats reading Merge: if you’re feeling homesick, stick on Ladi6 and instantly be transported back to the Land of the Long White Cloud.
Time Is Not Much continues the tradition of NZ acts such as Fat Freddy’s Drop and Shapeshifter with the trademark mix of soul, funk, dub and reggae that Kiwis have made their own. The vocals by MC Karoline Tamati have a rhythmic hip hop quality to them whilst remaining soulful and lush. With a smattering of socially conscious lyrics it would have been nice to see the vocals push a bit further and show a bit more grunt.

My beef with this album is also what I kinda like about it: Time Is Not Much is like watching a romantic comedy. You go into it knowing exactly what’s going to happen, but it’s still an enjoyable way to relax for an hour or so. - Red Paint
